This is a mad clip that we’re sure you won’t have seen.
Days after it was announced that Robbie Fowler, Fabio Cannavaro and Robert Pires are all set to feature in an Indian football competition that hopes to replicate the success of cricket’s Indian Premier League, domestic football from the sub-continent has supplied a terrifically tragic goal.
Tuesday in the I-League saw East Bengal batter the Pailan Arrows 4-1, and the last goal of the game was a gem for all FAIL lovers.
With 15 minutes left on the clock East Bengal searched for a fourth, as a low slide-pass bisected the the Arrows backline. In truth, however, there appeared little danger of the visitors’ conceding as defender Lalrozama Fanai had the legs on the lurking Bengal forwards, whilst Arrows keeper Ravi Kumar was also quick to rush off his line to snuff out the attack.
But then it all went wrong.
As if playing on ice, centre-half Fanai managed to tackle goalie Kumar as the duo ballsed-up the simple job of whacking the ball clear. That allowed home striker Tolgay Ozbey the easiest of jobs of tapping the ball over the line – which he mockingly did with his head!
