The United States’ female soccer team have been lauded back home after returning with the runners-up medal at the 2011 World Cup.
After hitting the headlines followingÂ their amazing comeback win over the Brazilians and then their dramatic defeat to Japan in the final, several of the stars of the team have been turned into superstars. Top of the bunch in American goalkeeper Hope Solo, who has been propelled intoÂ celebrityÂ life after her heroics against the Samba Queens.
Accordingly, just days after touching down on home soil, Solo, along with teammate Abby Wambach, turned up on the David Lettterman show. As part of their bit the duo took part in a ball-in-the-hole challenge with a twist, as the par tried their luck at whacking footballs into moving New York cabs.
Later in the week Solo appeared on aÂ secondÂ late night chat show with presenterÂ George Lopez. Once again the goalie was asked to show off her striking skills as she played ” football dunk tank” with the host.
After missing the target with her first few attempts, the female star got the crowd of their feet by smacking a shotÂ straightÂ on the bullseye. As a result, Lopez was forced to take a dip in the drink.
