Harry Kane will play with the England U21s at this summer’s European Championships, according to The Express.
The paper claim that regardless of the impact Kane may continue to make for the remainder of the season, the decision has already been made that he will return to the U21 fold once the Italy friendly is over.
The Express say that Hodgson feels Kane will be best served by garnering tournament experience this summer, despite the fact that he clearly looks ready for senior level, as he showed by scoring just 80 seconds into his debut last Friday night.
If this does transpire, it will come as bad news to Kane’s club manager Mauricio Pochettino, who would much rather see his star player rest up for the summer after a long season, rather than travelling away to play for another several weeks.
Indeed it would be quite a rare sight to see a Premier League top scorer lining out for the U21s, but as he’s still eligible for the Young Lions, there is nothing stopping them from picking him.
