Norwegian website tv2.no have produced an excellent graphic detailing the total wage bills of the 20 Premier League clubs to investigate which clubs are overachieving and underachieving this season.
The Premier League ‘Wage v Position’ table is particularly interesting in light of the recent financial fair play rules which will soon come into affect in England and Europe.
So what does the table show.
The biggest over-achievers in the EPL are West Brom and Swansea.
The Baggies, with a total wage bill of £48 million which is the 15th biggest budget in the Premier League, are currently overshooting their outlays sitting eighth in the division.
Similarly Swansea, winners of the Carling Cup, are also soaring about their budget sitting 9th in the table with the second smallest expenses in the league at just £34 million.
At the other end of the scale, QPR and Aston Villa are the major under-achievers in the league dishing out £69 and £75 million in wages respectively.
Other teams who are under-performing including Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool with all those clubs currently holding league positions which are lower than their their standings in the wage outlay table.
