Something historic happened during Galatasaray’s 3-2 win over Real Madrid this week in the Champions League.
For the first time in Los Blancos history, the Madridstas lined up with a starting XI that failed to a single home-grown player in an outfield position.
The only Spaniard to start for Real Madrid in Istanbul was goalie Diego Lopez, while Alvaro Arbeloa and Raul Albiol both came off the bench to feature against Gala.
In the wake of Real Madrid’s foreign line-up in Turkey, Spanish paper Marca asked their readers to vote on the greatest foreign XI of all players who have played at the Santiago Bernabeu. The results were as follows.
