So good the cameras missed it: Arsenal’s Joel Campbell scores classy lob for Costa Rica v Guyana

With Lukas Podolski signed and rumours rife that Olivier Giroud could join this week, Joel Campbell fired a timely reminder to Arsene Wenger that he is more than capable of scoring goals at international level.

Campbell, 19, produced some encouraging performances on loan at Lorient in 2011/2012 but only scored three goals in 25 Ligue 1 appearances.

Whether Campbell has done enough to impress Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger as well as secure a work permit to play in England remains to be seen but his international record is impressive.

The Arsenal youngster has scored four in his last six games for Costa Rica, including a goal against El Salvador on Friday night, video here.

On Tuesday evening, Campbell closed out his 2011/2012 season with the fourth in an easy win over Guyana. The Arsenal forward impudently chipped the keeper.

And whilst the cameraman missed it first time, the goal can be seen at the end of the video below.
