Liverpool defender Glen Johnson is one of the highest earners at the club but looks to be nearing a summer exit.
Johnson earns around £120,000 per week but is out of contract at the end of the season and today spoke about his future.
He revealed to the Liverpool Echo that Brendan Rodgers has shown no interest in offering him a new contract but said he was just focusing on his football.
Many Liverpool fans consider Glen Johnson a liability and will be glad to hear that a contract extension looks unlikely.
“There’s no update. There have been no talks.
“At this point I have no idea (where I will be next season). I haven’t thought about it.
“I’ve got two months left here and we will see what happens after that. I’m just going to keep my head down and keep training.”
The 30 year old England international is considering moving abroad, admitting that there has been talks with foreign clubs.
“I do like the idea of going abroad.
“There have been talks. I’m still young and it would be great for the kids. But I’m not thinking about that at the moment, We will have to wait and see.”
Liverpool splashed out £18million on Portsmouth’s Glen Johnson in 2009, and he has since scored nine goals in 192 appearances for the club.
Johnson is yet to start a Premier League game in 2015 having struggled with injuries throughout this campaign.
