Gareth Bale’s situation at Real Madrid goes from bad to worse.
Having hit a couple of false starts already in his fledgling Madrid career MARCA today report that the club doctors have discovered the Welshman has a hernia, unbeknown to himself.
It’s not as bad as it sounds though: Bale feels no pain, and in the short run the hernia won’t cause him any problems, but in the long-run an operation appears inevitable in order to fully resolve the issue.
Marca say the hernia was actually detected on the 2nd of September, and provoked alarm at the Casa Blanca; but with the deal already done and the ink dried on the paper, there was ‘no way back’ for Madrid, in Marca’s words, implying they were starting to get cold feet.
In the short term it changes nothing, and Bale looks set to be fit and ready for El Clasico in 2 week’s time.
