Such is the love for Mesut Özil amongst Arsenal fans these days, that we are surprised there have not been more stories like this doing the rounds.

One Arsenal fan, of course, produced an excellent wedding speech in honour of the German playmaker, but as of yet no Gooners have emerged naming their son after Mesut Özil. As far as we know.

News has been reported in Egypt that Ahmed Nabil Manga, a former Al Ahly player, now with Smouha SC, has called his son: Özil.

The news was revealed by King Fut, who were head and shoulders above any other media outlet during Mohamed Elneny’s transfer from Basel to Arsenal.

Manga is a 24-year-old right back, who came through the ranks at Al Ahly, one of Egypt’s biggest clubs.

We can only presume that he is a massive Arsenal fan and is in love with the German playmaker and assist king.

Kudos also to Manga for getting his wife to agree to the name! This cannot have been easy!
