The level of racism in Spain is truly stomach-churning and today it reared its ugly head back at a Segunda B play-off game Llagostera and Racing Santander.
The abuse was aimed at Racing player Mamadou Kone, a 22-year-old forward from Ivory Coast who has been a revelation for the club this season.
A woman in the crowd made this despicable gesture towards Kone during the game, which would finished 0-0. Segunda B is the third tier of Spanish football.
This is no isolated incident, with similar high profile acts of racism directed towards Barcelona’s Dani Alves and AC Milan’s Kevin Constant.
