Falcao pursuit back on: The no.9 Real Madrid want returns after 6 months out [AS]

Real Madrid’s pursuit of Monaco striker Radamel Falcao is back on if the headline of tomorrow’s edition of Spanish newspaper AS is anything to go by.

Falcao had been out injured since the turn of the year, missing the latter half of the season and the World Cup, but has now resumed training and Monaco boss Leonardo Jardim said he is close to 100% fitness.

Madrid have been long term admirers of Falcao and would have signed him last summer had he not played for city rivals Atletico; the transfer to Monaco was thought to be a stop gap on the way to signing for Carlo Ancelotti’s side.

But Monaco’s ambitions would look questionable if they sold the striker to Madrid having already parted with James Rodriguez a fortnight ago.
