The sweltering Baltimore heat was the winner as neither Liverpool nor Tottenham were able to make a breakthrough in a star-studded friendly on Saturday.
The seriousness of the weather saw Brendan Rodgers use 23 players in the friendly against Spurs, and that afforded a debut appearance for new £11million signing Fabio Borini.
The 21-year-old Italian was brought off the bench on the hour along, and immediately the forward was positioned on the left flank.
Borini showed several bright moments against the Lilywhites without ever really making a serious impact on the match. The Italian managed to get into a handful of attacking positions, however all too often his new teammate stried to seek him out with long balls which never reached the target.
At the other end of the pitch, Borini help out the Liverpool defence by doubling up down the wing, whilst sometimes he dropped short to make himself available for a simple pass.
