Everton’s Muhamed Besic has been slapped with a 3-game international ban for throwing chewing gum during Bosnia’s recent match against Andorra.
Besic was sent off in the Euro 2016 qualifier, as Bosnia ran out 3-0 winners.
The Everton midfielder reacted angrily to a robust challenge from Josep Manuel Ayala in the 63rd minute, resulting with Besic throwing his chewing gum at the Andorran player.
Besic was sent off for his behaviour, and yesterday it was confirmed that the player has been punished with a 3-game international ban.
For the record, after Arda Turan threw his shoe at a linesman last season during last season’s match between Atletico Madrid and Barcelona, the Turk got off scot-free.
