Erik Lamela’s brother Brian confirms on Twitter that the Argentine will start for Spurs at Southampton

Erik Lamela is going to get the chance to impress his second Tottenham manager since arriving in London on Sunday as the Argentine will start for Spurs at Southampton.

Lamela’s brother, Brian, who often seems to be he official mouthpiece for the Tottenham playmaker, answered a serious of questions from Spurs fans on Saturday all asking if Lamela will start against the Saints. According to Brain its a yes, yes, yes and yes.

Tottenham’s interim boss Tim Sherwood left Lamela out of last week’s Capital One Cup defeat at home to West Ham. Andros Townsend, however, picked up a knock in that match, so Lamela’s inclusion at St Mary’s always felt likely.

Of course, the reason why people are interested if Lamela is set to feature for Spurs is that, for the most part, the youngster with a huge reputation has struggled to adapt to life in London.

Despite a massive outlay of cash to attract the 21-year-old from Roma in the summer, Lamela has arguably been the biggest disappointment of all the big summer signings, and many haters would love the Argentine to flop again at Southampton.
