Following a stellar end to last season, Edin Dzeko has been rewarded for leading Manchester City to the Premier League title.
Somewhat undervalued since joining from Wolfsburg, Dzeko has been a key part of two Premier League title successes.
The Bosnia-Herzegovina striker now looks like a key member of Manuel Pellegrini’s first team squad and started the match against Newcastle on Sunday.
With Alvaro Negredo injured and Sergio Aguero also coming back from various ailments, plus Stevan Jovetic not fully proven yet in the Premier League, Dzeko is arguably Manchester City’s key striker.
The new contract awarded to Dzeko follows the likes of David Silva, Sergio Aguero and Vincent Kompany in recent weeks.

13 – Since joining Manchester City in January 2011, Edin Dzeko has scored 13 goals as a sub, more than any other PL player. Cameo.

Blimey. My TL has more Dzeko comment than when Aguero sighed his new contract last week.
