On Transfer Deadline Day, Chelsea completed the signing of unknown Senegalese defender Papy Djilobodji from French club Nantes.
The 26-year-old has been brought in to provide competition alongside John Terry, Gary Cahill and Kurt Zouma after Jose Mourinho recently failed to capture the signing of Everton star John Stones.
Papy Djilobodji took to Instagram on Tuesday evening to celebrate his shock move to the Premier League champions.
“Very proud to be part of the @chelseafc family! It’s a dream come true. I can’t wait to get on the field and give it all! #CFC”.
The central defender signed a four year contract at Stamford Bridge, having spent six years making a name for himself at Nantes after moving from his native Senegal as a 21-year-old.
Chelsea have started the season very poorly and have the second worst defence in the Premier League after four games, having conceded 10 goals.
