Done Deal: Johan Elmander confirms move to Norwich from Galatasaray on Twitter

Norwich’s summer spending spree has continued with the capture of Swedish international Johan Elmander from Galatasaray.

Elmander, the 32-year-old former Bolton forward, issued a couple of Tweets on Tuesday night confirming his move to Carrow Road, writing “On the way to Norwich City!” and “A new career begins tomorrow! .. I’m happy to be back in England. You know more than me, but it’s right. :)”

The move has also been rubber-stamped by Galatasaray’s technical director Bulent Tulun, who told Swedish newspaper Expressen:

I can confirm Johan is moving to England. We have agreed with Johan, his new club Norwich and his agent Anders (Wallsten). We wish Johan the best of luck in the future.

Elmander becomes the third striker Chris Hughton has brought into the East Anglian club this summer having previously brought Ricky van Wolfswinkel and Gary Hooper to the club. Moreover, Norwich have boosted their midfield options this season having signed Leroy Fer and Nathan Redmond.

Elmander has been in Turkey for two seasons with Galatasaray, during which time he has scored 16 goals in 52 games.
