Less than 24 hours after Ukrainian media sources proudly shouted that Yevhen Konoplyanka was staying at Dnipro this summer, fresh quotes from the club’s CEO have plunged that certainty into doubt.
According to Thursday narrative, Konoplyanka – a target for Liverpool, Manchester United and Tottenham – had decided to stay at his boyhood club as they’ll be competing in the Champions League next season.
Now, however, Dnipro’s CEO has told local press:
Officially, there’s a specific amount for which we don’t have the right to not release Konoplyanka.
If Manchester United offer favorable conditions and agree terms with Konoplyanka and pay us the same compensation, no one can do anything.
The Ukrainian press are also reporting that new Manchester United coach Van Gal also approved a possible transfer of Konoplyanka to Old Trafford this summer.
