Liverpool are set to recall Divock Origi from his loan deal in January, according to L’Equipe.
The Reds bought the Belgian last summer for 10 million pounds, but part of the deal was that Origi would spend another full season on loan.
But following Liverpool’s awful start to the season, with none of the four current strikers managing to score more than 2 leagues between them, Rodgers has pulled out the stops to get Origi back sooner rather than later.
L’Equipe say Liverpool will have to throw an additional 6 million euros on top of the 10 million pounds they already paid, in order to compensate the French club.
But any Liverpool fans who think this will act of some kind of panacea to their striking woes would be mistaken: Origi’s scored just 3 goals at Lille all season, and has been on a Balotellian drought of late.
