Dimitar Berbatov isn’t known for his hot-blooded passion.
The Bulgarian’s career has been characterized by languid skills and nonchalant chips; violently lashing out is not really his thing.
So it was quite a surprise to see him do just that for PAOK last night, getting him sent off for a brutal elbow which knocked his AEK victim to the ground.
In fact, it was so out of character that this was Berba’s first red card in 14 years.
To be fair to Berba, he didn’t appear to have any malicious intent, and was just trying to shirk the defender off him.
