Didier Deschamps leaves Samir Nasri out of French World Cup squad because he ‘sulks on the bench’ [Tweets]

Didier Deschamps announced his French World Cup squad this evening, and dropped the bomb everyone was expecting: no Premier Leauge and League Cup winning Samir Nasri, because of supposed attitude problems in previous squads, a charge Nasri himself flatly denies as a ‘sham’.

Now, Nasri’s no world beater, but he won two trophies this season and hasn’t said ‘Boo’ to a goose at Manchester City; not picking him because ‘he doesn’t like being sub’ seems a bit petty, and more of a personal thing from Deschamps.

When you look at the list of 7 reserve Bleus – Rémy Cabella, Maxime Gonalon, Alexandre Lacazett, Loïc Perri, Stéphane Ruffie, Morgan Schneiderli, Benoît Tremoulinas, the huge call Deschamps has made is even more glaring.
