Let’s be honest. It was a shitty game.
All the pre-match hype went to waste on Sunday, as Manchester United beat Liverpool 1-0 in a tightly fought game.
The first half was particularly poor, although the Scousers definitely edged the first half.
It took Louis van Gaal’s side almost 30 minutes to register their first shot on target, while Roberto Firmino was looking tasty.
After the interval Liverpool stepped up their pressure. Jordan Henderson, Emre Can and Roberto Firmino were all denied by the brilliant 25-year-old SPanish stopper.
Is David De Gea Man United’s only true world class talent?
Prior to the game, in an interview with Sky Sports in which he said:
I’m happy, I’m enjoying it and I believe in the team.
They were the greatest goalkeepers in the Premier League, they are legends for this club and that is what I want.
I train every day to be the best goalkeeper in the world, that is my aim. I’m not sure who the best is now, but it’s what I want. Also, to win trophies for Manchester United.
As for the decisive moment of the game, that arrived in the 77th minute.
A corner was swung into the box and headed against the bar by Marouane Fellaini before Wayne Rooney reacted quickest to hook the ball into the roof of the net.
Rooney has now scored three goals in his past two games.

United's outfield players should all get in front of De Gea, get on their knees and say "We're not worthy" over and over again.
