David Beckham retires: Goldenballs’ Top 13 goals

“I feel now is the right time to finish my career, playing at the highest level.” – David Beckham.

David Beckham announced his retirement on Thursday after a glittering career in football.

A league title winner in England, Spain, USA and now France – the former England captain was one of the iconic footballers of the last 20 years.

Not blessed with much pace, Beckham, 38, had a wand of a right foot and was deadly from set pieces, both setting up and scoring some of the finest goals in football history.

Certainly, the halfway line goal against Wimbledon and that free kick versus Greece will live long in the memory, way after Beckham’s last ever sponsorship deal.

Here are David Beckham’s top 13 goals. We tried to keep it to 10, we couldn’t and still probably missed loads!
