Danny Welbeck is not a natural finisher, this we know, but he’s going to have to start hitting the target at the very least.
After his miss at the weekend on his debut against Manchester City (albeit, a lovely chip that was oh-so close), Welbz has missed two big chances so far against Dortmund tonight; the first a sitter which he fresh aired with the goal gaping, and the second a bog standard 1 v 1 that a top striker has to gobbled up, but which he dragged wide.
To compound the situation, Dortmund took the lead right on half-time through Immobile, making those two misses look even more costly for Arsenal.
Gooners’ patience is beginning to be tested a little, judging by the first half tweets on Welbeck.
It’s early days in his Arsenal career, and he could make amends with a second half brace, but he’s looking increasingly nervous in front of goal right now.

Love Welbeck, but he should score there. Clear where he must improve.

And for the second game in a row, Welbeck misses a glorious one-on-one, and the opposition take the lead minutes later. Huge.
