Danny Murphy should've been sacked when he appeared on telly looking like this, let alone subjecting us to his pish. pic.twitter.com/03ntSE95r2

The FA Cup quarter-final between Manchester United and Arsenal was a terrific spectacle in the first half.
Both sides went all out for the win, much like we have grown used to when Manchester United and Arsenal face each other.
Nacho Monreal gave Arsenal the lead. Only for Manchester United to equalise through Wayne Rooney.
For those watching on the BBC it was an engaging half, but its safe to say the co-commentary of Danny Murphy irked quite a few of the watching public.
“Danny Murphy” was the top trend on Twitter in the UK during the first half of the FA Cup quarter-final between Manchester United and Arsenal.
The fact Murphy played for the likes of Liverpool and Spurs cannot have helped his cause and you wonder why the BBC decided to put the former Fulham midfielder on duty for this game.
See the best of the Twitter reaction to Danny Murphy above and below. Note even Matt Le Tissier had a sly dig…

I can only assume that the noise Danny Murphy is making from time to time is the sound of him sniffing glue.

Danny Murphy is a focus group Neville-Savage mashup.

Danny Murphy says "I'll tell you what" And then doesn't. I don't think he's very good at this co-commentator game to be honest.

Danny Murphy won the 1997 Football League Second Division play-off final, what's Mesut Özil ever won? #afc

If the BBC charged everyone £1 to mute the co-commentator between Danny Murphy, Savage and Neville they could scrap the license fee

Well l have heard enough of Danny Murphy as I don't think I could do a second half with him. Look at this for a touch when I turn it off.

That's Danny Murphy on my list of pundits who need to die along with Paul Merson and Robbie Savage. #MOT

Danny Murphy sounds like an excitable chap.
