Footballers in Spain know that as soon as they step out onto the pitch, their every moment will be recorded by cameras swarming the playing surface.
Indeed, it’s a common sight during games in Spain to see footballers cover their mouths as they talk to teammates, in an effort to conceal their comments from the TV cameras.
Cristiano Ronaldo, however, didn’t care less about that during Real Madrid’s 4-3 home defeat to Schalke in the Champions League.
In a eye-catching moment during the game, Ronaldo had a chat with French international Karim Benzema in which the Portuguese superstar was seen telling his teammate “Vergüenza, vergüenza”, or ‘what an embarrassment, what an embarrassment’ in English.
