How the hell did Liverpool do that?
Against the odds, after being both 1-0 down and down to 10-men, Liverpool conspired to stage a remarkable comeback to win 2-1 at Crystal Palace on Sunday.
It was a huge win for the Reds, particularly as Palace are their bogey team. The Scousers hadn’t won this fixture in the league since 1997.
Now the record books have been rewritten.
But was Liverpool’s winner a farce?
Deep into injury time, sub Christian Benteke fell in the box under a challenge from Damien Delaney.
On repeatedly viewings, contact between the two seemed minimal, and the Belgium striker was slammed for taking a dive.
Either way, he got back up to slot home a cheeky winning penalty.
The goal ended Benteke’s longest scoring drought in English football. He had gone 13 games without finding the target.
Tweets on whether Christian Benteke dived to helped win Liverpool the match at Palace are below.
Benteke "I think he touch me, that's why I went down".

This weekend goes from bad from worse. Scumbag diving cheats. Absolute travesty. The Liverpool Way.

I see Benteke bailed Klopp out of a mess today.

12 – Crystal Palace have gone 12 Premier League matches without a win (D4 L8), the current longest winless run in the top-flight. Plummet.

Not much in it, but Delaney caught Benteke. It's a foul in the box; thus a penalty. That's why defenders should not dive in. Invites trouble

Re: Benteke penalty.
1) Got caught by defenders trailing knee- not a 'dive'.
2) get off your high horse- we all take what we can get.

Disgraceful refereeing, Crystal Palace have been well and truly robbed, Benteke should feel ashamed of himself after that dive.

It was a dive. I don't care… Someone's knee on the foot of a 6"4 unit that is Benteke would not send him into the advertising boards.

That dive from Benteke is one of the most embarrassing things I have ever seen. Diego Costa's name would be on every front page tomorrow.
