Chelsea want to sign AS Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan, according to a new report by Calcio Mercato.
Nainggolan has gathered a lot of admirers with his hard performances in the centre of the park. He hasn’t set Serie A alight but he brings steel to any side that he plays for. Chelsea will have to cough up if they want him.
Roma would ask for at least €30/35 million for the Belgian midfielder. Chelsea have sent scouts to watch him on a number of occasions so one would imagine that they would be willing to pay that fee.
In fact, €35 million seems like a pretty standard rate for a top class player these days.
Jose Mourinho was a big fan of Nainggolan but he didn’t take that interest with him when he departed. Whoever comes in as the new manager in the summer will make the final call on whether to press on and sign the 27-year-old.
