Cesc Fabregas was the first player to Tweet his support for Jose Mourinho after the Portuguese got the sack from Chelsea yesterday.
Cesc was straight on social media as soon as the news broke, and tweeted a message of thanks and support to Mourinho within the hour.
It was interesting that Cesc was the first player to do, in the context of Chelsea’s season: he’s been one of the most heavily criticized players for his drop in form, and indeed he had been dropped several times by Mourinho.
He was also accused of being the leader of a dressing room mutiny against Mourinho and of leaking stories to the press, but these rumours were unsubstantiated and many outlets were forced to apologize for their claims.
As often happens with such big claims, though, the mud stuck, and many Chelsea fans believe he is a ‘snake in the grass’ who plotted Mourinho’s downfall.
The Catalan took a barrage of abuse for his Tweet from Chelsea fans who felt his message was too little, too late, and that he should have shown his support on the pitch.

@cesc4official You're a massive part of the reason he's gone! Rather than thank him, you should be apologising to him!
