Calling Non-Leaguers: The 11 second goal, a truly unlucky goalie & a brilliant goal you won’t have seen

Three great clips for you to feast over from the world of non-league football.

At the start of the week Wroxham reached the final of the FA Carlsberg Vase completing a 4-1 aggregate win over Whitehawk. The match was made memorable by a goal for the hosts after 11 seconds when, straight from the kick-off, Wroxham thumped the ball up the other end and Steve Spriggs got on a flick-on to score having raced into the box from starting the match with the initial pass.

Earning them a meeting with Whitley Bay in the final, Steve Spriggs’ 11 second goal can be seen here.

Also this week in Brazil there was the State of Bahia Amateur Football Cup final, played between Itamajaru and Ipiau. The match went to penalties, and the very first Ipiau effort at trying to beat Itamajaru keeper Magabal failed when the keeper got down low and parried the ball onto the post. The what happened next moment, however, was not far behind.

Magabal’s unlucky moment of misery can be seen here.

Lastly, big thanks to 101er Ben Sibley for directing us to a brilliant goal from university football in England. Winchester took on Glamorgan in the British Universities & Colleges Sport Cup final, and the match ended on a high note with a wonder-goal from Winchester’s Daniel Barber. The left winger closed out the with a fourth in a 4-2 victory with a Messi-esque run and finish to send the watching crowd wild.

Daniel Barber’s solo special can be seen here.
