Brilliant goals you won’t have seen: Matteo Rubin (Torino) vs Gallipoli & Shehab Ahmed (Al Ahly) vs Mansoura

A big shout out to Luka for bringing this goal to our attention.

Torino, currently occupying in sixth place in Serie B in Italy, have seen there promotion charge fall apart in recent weeks as the Bulls only recorded two wins and two draws before last weekend’s home match with Gallipoli.

That match brought an upturn in fortunes as Toro ran out 2-nil winners, but it was the second goal scored by left-back Matteo Rubin that had onlookers purring with excitement.

Already 1-up after 15 minutes, the 22-year-old defender doubled the lead midway through the first half with an absolute belter. Chesting the ball 30-yards out and near the left-hand touchline, Rubin proceeded to whack a thunderbolt across goal and into the far top corner before racing off towards the locals in frenzied excitement.

Heading over to Egypt, last weekend saw powerhouse Al Ahly retain their stranglehold on league as they beat Mansoura 3-nil to claim their sixth successive championship.

Capping the historic moment was 19-year-old midfielder Shehab Ahmed, who scored a stunner to make the score 2-nil fifteen minutes from time. Picking up the ball just inside his opponents half, Ahmed weaved his way past two challenges before advancing to 30-yards from goal, where he let rip with a howitzer that cracked the underside of the bar before bouncing emphatically into the net.
