The video above has gone viral despite it taking place last week, the day after Cameroon’s 4-0 defeat to Croatia.
The Indomitable Lions suffered a horror World Cup campaign, losing all three games, losing Alex Song to a red card for a crazy challenge in the second game and talisman Samuel Eto’o missed two games through injury.
So, it is safe to say that the clip above could well be the best thing produced by both Cameroon and Eto’o whilst in Brazil.
According to reports in Brazil, Pedro a 10-year-old, got up at 5am to go stand outside the Cameroon hotel in order to meet his hero Samuel Eto’o.
The former Barcelona, Inter Milan and Chelsea striker was asked by Pedro for a hug, ignoring the waiting media in the process.
What ensued is a long embrace which has touched the hearts of tens of thousands that have watched the clip online.
Pedro said afterwards: “I am thrilled. It’s the first time I see such a player closely. Eto’o has a lot of skill and I am his fan of his since his time of Barcelona to Chelsea.”
