Bournemouth have made an enquiry about AC Milan attacker Stephan El Shaarawy, according to a transfer report by Sky Sports Italia. The Italy international’s future is up in the air after a substandard loan spell at Monaco.
The French club decided to only play El Shaarawy 24 times as a 25th appearance would force them to buy the player.
Now Bournemouth are making an ambitious move for the 23-year-old just a few days after pipping Watford to the signature of Roma attacker Juan Iturbe. Roma are apparently the biggest rivals to the Cherries in this case.
Nicknamed the Pharaoh, El Shaarawy was once the golden boy of Italian football when he was banging the goals in for AC Milan but a relentless series of injuries derailed his progress and left him on the scrapheap.
Perhaps a move to the lovable Premier League underdogs is the tonic that his career so badly needs.
