In transfer news that might catch people a little off guard, Borussia Dortmund are leading the race to sign Atletico Madrid’s prodigiously talented attacker Oliver Torres, according to a transfer report by Di Marzio.
The 21-year-old Spaniard has been touted as one of the next big things in Spain for years now but he’s not happy about the amount of game time he’s getting, especially after an impressive loan spell at Porto last season.
Oliver has made 13 appearances in La Liga for Atletico this season, eight of those being starts, with each appearance lasting less than 48 minutes on average. He’s made five Champions League appearances with each lasting an average of 27 minutes. Despite his tender years, he feels as though this is a raw deal. When one considers that he made his debut at the age of 17, his impatience is understandable.
Dortmund seems like the perfect fit for the silky playmaker and it’s understood that he has a preference for the German giants rather than the other established suitor at his door, AS Roma.
