He may be one of the most sought-after left-wingers in Europe, but Standard Liege’s Milan Jovanovic did his reputation no favours at the weekend after being caught trying to take a bite out of Bart Buysse after the pair found themselves in a ruckus on Saturday.
The incident began after Jovanovic was muscled off the ball by Zulte pairing Bart Buysse and Stijn Meert early doors. Feeling that he was fouled in the mess of flailing arms, the Liege number 23 quickly turned on Buysse after being dispossessed, burying his head near Buysse’s upper body before using his head as a battering ram as he tried to push his opponent further back.
When the slow-motion replay of the coming-together was re-aired, the cameras captured Jovanovic performing his Mike Tyson impersonation, with the Serb caught trying to take a bite out of Buysse near his left cheek. Fortunately Jovanovic missed his target.
