It’s been one helluva week for 19-year-old Belgium striker Divock Origi.
Origi, who plays his club football for Ligue 1 side Lille, propelled himself on to the worldwide stage scoring the winner for the Red Devils in a 1-0 win over Russia.
Having lead Marc Wilmots’ side into the last-16 of the competition, Origi saw his reputation receive a further boost when he was linked with a big move to England in the British tabloid press.
According to reports Tottenham, Arsenal and Liverpool are all circling the burgeoning Belgium attacker, while Lille are rumoured to be holding out for a £8m bid.
Whether an deal comes to fruition remains to be seen, however Origi has made sure he has fanned the flames of a possible Premier League in a new interview.
The teenage forward remarked that “as a young boy I dreamed of playing in the Premier League”, however the striker then tuned down his come-and-get-me signals saying all decisions about his future will only be discussed once the World Cup ends.
So will Spurs, Arsenal or Liverpool land Origi? It’s looking like a real possibility.
