New Bayern Munich midfielder Xabi Alonso has been speaking to the press ahead of their Champions League clash with Manchester City this week.
Since moving to Germany in the late stages of the transfer window it has become apparent that Real Madrid may have underestimated the value of Alonso in their team.
The current European Cup holders are in disarray after losing consecutive La Liga games following key departures in the summer.
A master passer like Alonso is an invaluable influence in the centre of the park why is why Pep Guardiola sought him out. The midfielder spoke about his new boss: “He has a very clear view of how he wants me to perform on the pitch, how he wants me to be the link between defence and attack. Try to associate the players that I have around as much as possible. And after that it’s my job to perform on the pitch.”
