It seems that it is only a matter of time before Arsenal complete their first transfer signing of the January window.
Over the last few weeks we have covered at length, the Gunners’ pursuit of Basel midfielder Mohamed Elneny, and according to several media sources a deal for the Egyptian is imminent (read earlier story here).
It is understood that the 23-year-old has completed a medical ahead of his £7million move to the Emirates, and it seems like his former side have already acted quickly to replace their departing midfielder.
On Saturday the Swiss club announced the signing of Swedish midfielder, Alexander Fransson from IFK Norrköping.
At just 23-years-old, Elneny looks like a shrewd signing for Arsenal having played for the top club in Switzerland over the past four seasons.
If the midfielder can make an instant impact, then that will only boost the North London side’s chances of winning a first league title in more than a decade.
