As their senior side triumphed at Manchester City, Barcelona’s youth team registered a comfortable 4-1 win over FC Copenhagen in the UEFA Youth League.
The star of the show for the young Barcelona team was Munir El Haddadi, as the leading scorer in the competition bagged a brace to confirm Barcelona as the first side through to the quarter-finals.
Moroccan teenager El Haddadi recently extended his Barcelona contract until 2017, and the 18-year-old is rumoured to have a 12 million euro release clause in his new deal.
Against FC Copenhagen, El Haddadi showed his worth with two goals in each half.
In the 28th minute the forward showed excellent poise and trickery to nutmeg a Copenhagen defender in the box before he found the target. Then, in the 88th minute, El Haddadi rounded off the win with a superb solo goal as the striker ran 50-yards down the right hand touchline before cutting inside an d curling a left-footed shot into the far corner.
