Valladolid then lost fullback Pedro Lopez to a second yellow card for a dive in the area in the 21st but Atletico failed to react. Sevilla 4 – Sporting Gijon 3 (La Liga, September 13, 2008) It was an incredible first half at the Sanchez Pizjuan as the teams shared six goals, with Mate Bilic striking first for Sporting after 20 minutes. Bilic grabbed a second just two minutes later before Javier Chevanton pulled one back for Sevilla on 22 minutes. Fredi Kanoute drew Sevilla level at 2-2 with a goal in the 36th minute and Enzo Maresca then fired the home team in front less 60 seconds later. Bilic completed his hat-trick on the stroke of half-time to bring it back to 3-3 but Sevilla were in less generous mood after the break. They clinched all three points with Kanoute netting the crucial goal on the hour mark.
