Muller benched: Atletico Madrid v Bayern Munich [Team Sheets]

After the goalless draw between Manchester City and Real Madrid at the Etihad last night, Atletico Madrid and Bayern Munich face off at the Vicente Calderon in the other Champions League semi-final.

And having beaten both of last season’s finalists in the last round, both of these sides will now be seriously fancying their chances of going all the way to the final.

For Atletico and Diego Simeone, reaching the final could give them a shot at exacting revenge over city rivals Real, who beat them in the 2014 final.

As for Bayern, manager Pep Guardiola has admitted that his legacy at the club depends on him at least reaching the final, before he leaves for Manchester City in the summer.

In terms of team news, Pep has made one big decision, leaving goal machine Thomas Muller out of the starting lineup.

Franck Ribery also takes his place on the bench, and could be in line for his first appearance of this season’s competition.

As for Atletico, Fernando Torres is named up front, having completed his one-match suspension for his red card in the first leg of the quarter-final against Barcelona.
