AS Roma set-piece specialist Miralem Pjanic has the best free kick conversion rate in Europe [Graphic]

Roma's Pjanic scores a goal during their Champions League group E soccer match against Roma in Leverkusen

The best free-kick taker in Europe, Miralem Pjanic has a quite frankly crazy conversion rate. AS Roma fans must react to winning free-kicks outside the box like most fans react to winning penalties.

Who Scored have created a graphic showing the players with the best conversion rates since the 2013-2014 season with Pjanic leading the way having scored seven of his 38 free-kicks in that time (18.4%).

When Roma came up against Bayer Leverkusen in a recent set of Champions League games it was billed as the battle of the dead-ball specialists. That’s because Leverkusen have Hakan Calhanoglu.

The Turkish attacker has scored 11 from 81 attempts (13.4%). Manchester United fans wondering where Memphis Depay is should know that this list only features free-kicks from Europe’s top five leagues.

Speaking of United, Rooney ranks pretty high in the list with three goals from 25 attempts (12%) while old boy Cristiano Ronaldo has a fairly poor record in recent seasons.

He’s only scored five goals from 73 attempts (6.8%) meaning that two Real Madrid teammates have better conversion rates: James Rodriguez (four from 27, 14.8%) and Gareth Bale (three from 24, 12.5%). Lionel Messi and Zlatan Ibrahimovic are two other big names with poor records in the last few years. See the full list below.
