Arsene Wenger confirms Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain’s ‘serious’ injury (Video)

Arsene Wenger has today confirmed the bad news.

Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain is out with a “serious injury”.

The Ox was forced off the pitch five minutes into the second half of this week’s Champions League defeat against Barcelona, when he was replaced by Theo Walcott.

Earlier in the match, the midfielder had the opportunity to fire the Gunners into the lead, however he blew his chance from four yards out as his shot went straight to keeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen.

The Ox was withdrawn at the start of the second half after failing to recover from an injury picked up when he clattered into Javier Mascherano, and now the extent of the injury has been discovered.

Wenger has today failed to specify exactly what the injury is, however he’s noted it’s serious and the Ox will be out of action for several weeks.

Wenger however set aside fears the midfielder is out of the Euros.
