Arsenal’s Member’s Day: The crossbar challenge, Wenger’s fail & “football tennis” (video)

Arsenal opened their doors on Tuesday, allowing fans to watch on as the Gunners were put through their paces at a rare public training session at the Emirates stadium.

The first video to bring you captures a 3-on-3 game of “football tennis” in which Cesc Fabregas, Alex Song and Fran Merida took on Theo Walcott, Denilson and Jack Wilshere. All the players appear to take the training very seriously, Song looking particularly hungry for victory in the game, as all the stars put on a good show for the onlooking crowds.

In a second piece of footage, Arsenal goalkeeping legend Bob Wilson acted as the master of ceremonies during the squad’s attempt at taking on the “Crossbar Challenge.” The successes were few, with Alex Song succeeding in hitting the crossbar/post, while reportedly Johan Djourou also struck the woodwork.

Arsene Wenger also manned up for the challenge, but unfortunately the Professor’s weak attempt could only trickle it’s way towards the goal.
