Arsenal tell Barcelona they won’t be exercising buy-back option on Cesc Fabregas [BBC]

Will Arsene Wenger come to regret this decision?

Many Arsenal fans certainly think so and the fact Cesc Fabegas appears to be headed to Chelsea, only makes this more galling for the Gooners that want the Spaniard back at Arsenal.

Cesc Fabregas is available for transfer for around 30 million euros. The latest reports suggest the former Arsenal captain is Stamford Bridge-bound.

According to the very reliable David Ornstein of the BBC, Fabregas may be returning to London, but it won’t be to the Emirates.

Wenger is sticking with his tried and trusted attacking midfielders such as Mesut Ozil and Santi Cazorla. Plus Tomas Rosicky and Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain could also be available in those roles.

It almost seems inevitable that Arsenal supporters will bemoan this decision at some point next season. Probably when Cesc and Jose Mourinho are running away with the Premier League title…
