Less than 24 hours after Liam Brady resigned as the head of Arsenal’s youth academy, the Gunners have begun making moves to bring Dennis Bergkamp back to north London.

Undoubtedly Arsenal fans will be excited about the thoughts of Bergkamp returning to the club. However, one also suspects that plenty of Gooners will be a little disappointed that this is the transfer deadline day story which they’ll be waking up to.

Bergkamp, 43-years-old, enjoyed a glittering eleven seasons at Arsenal, and the Dutchman will be hugely popular at the Emirates should he decide to take the job. Whether Bergkamp will make the move back to Arsenal, however, is questionable.

Bergkamp is already in full-time employment as Frank de Boer’s assistant manager at Ajax, and it is unknown whether Dennis will be excited about leaving that job for the one at Arsenal.
