Arsenal have already been linked with a host of players in the hours since securing fourth spot in the Premier League, and according to Karlsen have their eye on West Ham’s Winston Reid.

The 24-year-old was widely considered to be West Ham’s best player in 2012/2013 with a host of commanding performances for Sam Allardyce’s side.

Reid played 36 games for the Hammers, scoring 1 goal. This comes after a fine campaign in the Championship, where he also made over 30 appearances.

Arsenal’s defensive resilience was the highlight of their late season surge to beating Spurs to fourth spot and Arsene Wenger could well be keen to bolster the ranks of his back line.

The New Zealand defender will likely attract interest with just two years of his contract left at Upton Park, after signing a new deal in January.
