The Premier League website this afternoon published a list of all the players to be released by clubs in England’s top division.
Arsenal confirmed that Abou Diaby and Ryo Miyaichi (among others) would be released when their contracts run out at the end of June.
Despite playing fantastically well in patches, the 29 year old French midfielder has been plagued by injury during his nine year spell at the Emirates.
Young Ryo Miyaichi was billed as the next big thing in 2011 and was handed a four year contract by Arsene Wenger.
He made only one Premier League appearance for the Gunners, trying and failing at four different clubs on loan.

Best memories of Diaby are him throttling Joey Barton and murdering John Terry. What a man.

Abou Diaby will leave Arsenal having won more FA Cups than Lionel 'GOAT' Messi. Makes you think.

In before Abou Diaby signs for juventus and becomes the new Pogba when he gets sold to Barcelona

As for Miyaichi… what a waste of time that was. You'd think the lesson had been learned after Inamoto.

Abou Diaby the player may leave Arsenal, but Abou Diaby the abstract concept of Arsenalness will never leave our hearts.

Diaby's best game was possibly LFC away when he ruined Gerrard… His best moment was when he studded Terry's face and almost killed him.

I feel for Abou Diaby, he is a top class player and sounds like a top man. Hope he will still be a professional athlete. Thanks AD

Pour some out for Abou Diaby on the day the clock ran out. Time for an Owen Hargreaves-style youtube training montage?

Cruel of Arsenal if they do release Diaby six months short of him qualifying for a testimonial.

So long @AbouVDIABY and Ryo Miyachi. Such a pity that their careers didn't pan out the way they wanted.

If someone get Abou Diaby to remain fit, they've got some player on their hands. #FreeTransfers

Delighted to see Diaby go, he stole way too big a wage for way too long! #AFC

Arsene Wenger will give new meaning to the cliche "like a new signing" when he inevitably re-signs Abou Diaby next January. #AFC
