Arsenal are set to reinforce their attack in January with the signing of Dynamo Moscow striker Aleksandr Kokorin, according to reports from Russian outlet Izvestia.
The 24-year-old Russian international has been a long-term target for Arsene Wenger and he’s set to acquire the forward for a cut-price fee in the next transfer window.
Kokorin’s contract with his current side is up in the summer so Arsenal could sign him for as little as €6 million rather than waiting until the season ends to recruit him. He has rejected Dynamo’s new contract offers.
Olivier Giroud scored a hat-trick in midweek while Arsenal also have the likes of Alexis Sanchez, Theo Walcott, Joel Campbell and Danny Welbeck in their ranks.
However, the club are so often hit by injury that two of those five could be injured at any one time. So signing Kokorin would be a boost for the club’s domestic and continental ambitions.
