The Telegraph have waded into Arsenal’s transfer policy on Tuesday to reference several reports which have been doing the rounds for a few days.
Reiterating what many media agencies, in both England and Italy, have been saying for some time, Arsenal’s interest in Mario Balotelli is again rubber-stamped by the broadsheet.
On Balotelli, Matt Law, who seems to bag all the transfer scoops for the paper, wrote:
Unsurprisingly, the biggest worry over Balotelli is his temperament but the 23 year-old would undoubtedly represent an upgrade on Olivier Giroud and is an out-an-out striker.
With Balotelli not everyone’s cup of tea, Arsenal are also now looking at Barcelona’s Chilean playmaker Alexis Sanchez as another possible target.
Interestingly, the Telegraph make it crystal clear to Gunners’ fans that signing both Super Mario and Sanchez is hugely unlikely to happen.
According to Matt Law:
Arsenal have now registered an interest in Sanchez, who would cost around £25 million if Barca could be persuaded to sell.
Wenger has the funds at his disposal to sign both Balotelli and Sanchez, but that scenario appears to be unlikely.
